Ching-In Chen is the author of The Heart's Traffic (Arktoi Books/Red Hen Press). The daughter of Chinese immigrants, she is a community organizer who has been involved in the efforts to preserve the historical Riverside Chinatown and a Kundiman, Macondo and Lambda Fellow. She grew up in the land of ocean and snow and so has acclimated to the desert by falling in love with the desert-based creations of visual artists like Noah Purifoy and Flora Kao.
