Marjorie Becker's poetry recently has been compared to that of Diane di Prima and Olga Broumas. She is the author of the poetry collections Body Bach (Tebot Bach, 2005) and Piano Glass/Glass Piano (Tebot Bach, 2010,) and of poems published or forthcoming in Runes, The Southern Poetry Anthology, Rethinking History, Askew, Chaparral, the collection Writing on Napkins at the Sunshine Club: Poets Writing in Macon and many other venues. She focuses on the complex musical and emotional worlds of both Latin America and the Deep South. She holds a doctorate and two master's in Latin American history from Yale.
